  1. First of all, I LOVE BEING THE FIRST TO COMMENT WOHOOOOOO. But anyways, I liked the end of the movie. That may be weird but I think it helped the audience make up their mind on whether or not they thought mac was mentally ill. By taking such a harsh method on him it helps the audience to take pity on him. Also I liked that chief was able to show his true colors. In class we talked today about whether or not he was crazy since he had the ability to kill someone. BUt I think this showed how strong he was and make him the hero of the movie. He was the quiet one and I like unexpected characters to rise to the occasion. The only thing I wish had happened was the Nurse Ratchett was fired from the institution or she was institutionalized. I guess I can settle for her to be a little nicer. I didn't like how Billy killed himself, however, I think this proved a point that the men were under severe pressure within the institution.

  2. I actually really liked the movie. The production, acting, and story seemed really authentic. The characters really seemed as if they were the people they were portraying. However, I hated the ending. I thought that mcMurphy was joking when he was walked back to his be after his lobotomy. I also disliked how Cheif smothered him to death. Also, I hated how Billy killed himself. After he had spent the night with Candy, he was able to speak without studdering, and he seemed confident. I think that McMurphy should have just killed Nurse Ratched because she's evil.

  3. This movie is one of my top favorites. I love love love it! I have always liked Jack Nicholson since the first time I saw him in Anger Management with Adam Sandler. Seeing him in one of his first movies and so young made me see how he got to where he is today. The movie had its funny parts but then its serious parts as well. It made me see what really happened in a mental institution in the past. I felt as if I got to know many of the characters, I loved the scene when Cheswick just kept yelling for his cigarettes but then the movie turned more serious. I did not like at all that Nurse Ratched caused sweet Billy to kill himself. When McMurphy started to choke her and I saw her eyeballs start to roll back I thought in my “yes!” I know it is horrible to want someone to die but I wanted that little snit to be gone. When McMurhpy was like a vegetable I couldn’t believe it. He was supposed to be unstoppable. Then when Chief suffocated him I was in even more shock. I kind of understand that he killed him because he knew McMurphy wouldn’t want to live like that, but still. The movie was great, but it left me kind of disturbed.

  4. I didnt really enjoy the ending of the movie. I couldnt tell that McMurphy had been labotomized when he walked into the room. I also would have liked to see what chief did when he went to canada, and how he started a new life. I also would have liked to see how everyone else in the mental institution would have reacted to finding out that McMurphy was dead and that chief had escaped. Other than that i really enjoyed the movie as a whole. All the actors did a really good job of portraying people in a mental institution and made it really believable. Over all i enjoyed the movie.

  5. Of course I didn't enjoy the end of the movie. It was such a sad ending. The ending of the movie made such an impresssion on me. It showed me that Labotomy's only hurt people in the end, it does not help people. The ending also showed me that McMurphy would not take responsibility for that guys suicide. Sure, it was Nurse Ratchets fault that he committed suicide, but it was also McMurphy's fault as well. McMurphy represents what someone would act like it they are anit-social. The movie was definately sad, but it was also very good, so I would not change I thing.

  6. I wasn't a big fan of the ending of this movie. I loved how the beginning was so real and the characters portrayed themselves so energetically. However, towards the end the moods began to shift. Billy commits suicide when Nurse Ratchet walks in on his sexual encounter with Candy. I feel as though Billy finally felt some comfort and love for once in his live. He was happy and should this through his personality. Never once did he studder like usual. He seemed so confident. I also did like how Cheif killed McMurphy after he had been labotomized. How could he live with the guilt and proceed on with his life. I know some may agrue that he did this for McMurphy's own good but I can just imagine how hurt his friends must have been when they woke up to their friend lying dead in his bed. If I could change just one thing about this movie it would be the end. I loved everything else but the ending seemed so confusing. I hated how Cheif just left and went on with his life.

  7. I truely enjoyed this movie, and it actually made me look forward to this class! My favorite patient was Martini because his actions and comments were fun to watch. i feel as if a lot of the patients learned a great deal from McMurphy. i also believe they learned a lot more from him then they did Nurse Ratched. i can tell the ending had a deep and significant meaning, but it was too deep for my little bran to process. i wasnt the biggest fan of the ending personally, but most likely if i understood it better, it will make more sense to me.

  8. I really liked the end of the movie, I would've preferred that McMurphy didn't get labotomized and he and chief had escaped as they planned (together). In addition, I would not of minded if Nurse Ratched really was killed in the struggle. I thought the movie-makers did a really good job showing how McMurphy did not take any responsibility for Billy's death and that Chief was a fully functioning man. I just wish there was a happier ending to the movie, other than that, it was great! Thanks for letting us watch it!

  9. i enjoyed the movie very much. I dinthowever truly llike the ending but in some ways i did. i felt as though billy should have manned up and dealt with his mother, instead of being afraid of life and what she was going to do to him. And chief, that sly dog him. he tricked us all. in fact i give cheif all the credit in the world for that. hes smarter than us all. and instead of chief just escaping by himself physically, i wished that him and macmurphy got to escape together rather that him getting a labotomy and leaving only chief with what he instilled on him. but in all i really liked the movie.

  10. I really enjoyed watching this movie, it was extremely interesting and i can see how it really hit well for Jack Nicholson. He's a very good actor and played a great part. Not only him however, all the characters played amazing roles to where it felt as though they were actually patients and were completely convinceing.
As for the ending I find it decent, the leading to the labotomy after the Billy Bibbit incident i found actually surpriseing in a way. I had expected McMurphy to only be kidding and to actually pretent to be okay and then chief started to suffocate him and i still wasnt sure if he was just going to far with it but apparently he was not.
However, for the ending it worked out correctly and to leave you with a unique feeling as Chief leaves running off into the distance.

  11. I enjoyed the end of the movie to an extent. I hated the fact that you couldnt see mcmurphy and the chief run away together as they initially wanted to do. The fact that Chief was a good enough friend to be able to work up the courage to be able to put his friend out of his misoury was a great take on, how much you could do for a friend. In all i still wish the institution did not choose to labotomize mcmurphy but in the end it was a great movie and i think the end of mcmurphy was something that needed to happen.
